My Training Philosophy

Understanding your dog.

Is your dog doing something you don’t like? Unmanageable on walks? Lunging, barking, hackling or even biting? Maybe they don’t like strangers, kids or skateboards. Are they afraid of things they see outside the home?

Dogs are sentient beings with temperaments, like and dislikes just like people! Many suffer from fears that we aren’t aware of. All behavior is simply communication and a way to get their needs met. Behavior issues are usually due to our misunderstanding of what the dog needs in certain situations. I can help you understand those needs and respond appropriately to affect behavior changes that will help both you and your dog.

I am a force free positive reinforcement trainer. I will never use punishment, shock collars, prong collars or pain and fear to get an animal to comply. Positive Reinforcement, understanding and compassion are the tools I use to improve your dog’s behavior and your relationship.

My ultimate goal for Paws & Think is to educate dog-owners and strengthen their relationships with their pets, through a variety of hands-on technique and scientific methods.
